First Impression: Kylie Cosmetics Royal Peach Palette

Hey beauties! As you can see, I gave in and bought the Kylie Cosmetics Royal Peach Palette. At first I was like nope not buying it but then after Jeffree Star posted his review I was like um maybe I do need it…ha! This palette is sold for $45 USD and has a wide range of matte and shimmer shades, from soft peachy brown to intense royal blue! I received it in the mail yesterday and used it for the first time so here is my first impressions. Read below to learn more!

THE PACKAGING:

I have Kylie’s Bronze and Burgundy palettes and I always LOVE her packaging. The palette is all white with KYLIE written in gold lettering on the front. It is made out of cardboard and closes magnetically. Unlike her first palettes, this one contains a mirror and a blending brush! The mirror is really big and easy to use. I was excited to try out one of her brushes and honestly it’s awful. The bristles are really stiff and scratchy it was a total disappointment. I am glad I never bought her brush set!

THE PRODUCT:

This palette contains 12 eyeshadows: 4 matte and 8 shimmer/satin. When swatching I found that there were a lot of inconsistencies between shadows. Some were creamy and pigmented, others dry and patchy. Some shimmers feel pretty chunky, especially the shade Duchess (bronze shimmer), which has way too much glitter fall out. Also the shade Royal (blue) was really patchy and hard to swatch. When I actually applied the colors to my eyes I think they generally did pretty good! I used North Star (purple shimmer) on my inner corners and this one had good color pay off. I used the matte shades Sorbet (light peach) and Sandy (medium brown) in my crease and they turned out very pretty and blended easily. I also used the shade Crush (satin pink) on most of my lid. I had to build up this color a lot because it was not highly pigmented but it looked great and very bright once finished! I wore my makeup for a good 8 hours and I can say that the shadows were still very vibrant on my eyes at the end of the day.

SMELL????? I know many people have claimed that this has a deathly “toxic” smell to it. If I put the palette right up to my nose, it does smell sort of like paint. But that’s only if I literally put it right up to my face! Just using it normally I do not smell a thing.

Overall I am happy with the palette. It has a lot of nice warm shades perfect for spring and summer. I also love how there are a few bright statement shades to make dramatic looks. I am not sure why they feel so different when swatching, but how they perform on the eyes is what matters most. I need to try out the shades that swatched the worst and see how they do! The only thing I wish the palette had is a matte white shade for brow bone highlight, but I can just take out another palette. I might try the brush one more time but I will probably throw it away!

Have any of you tried this palette? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading don’t forget to follow!
